Featuring Rhône region wines, Mr. Nicolas Dornic from Banville Wine Merchants will discuss the five selected wines while you enjoy a beautiful five course dinner. The reception with Hors d’Oeuvres and the first wine will begin at 7pm. Dinner with five courses and four paired wines will follow beginning at 7:30pm.

Bodega Catena Zapata Dinner
We are very excited to be hosting world-renowned vintner, Dr. Laura Catena, for a special wine dinner on Friday, June 17, 2022. Dr. Catena will be presenting several wines that she and her father, Nicolás Catena Zapata, produce in Mendoza, Argentina at Bodega Catena Zapata Winery since 1902. Nicolás Catena Zapata has been credited with revolutionizing the Argentine wine industry in the last 50 years, earning him Wine Enthusiast’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021.
Since 1995, Dr. Laura Catena has been leading the research studying every aspect of the family vineyards from soil microbiome, in-depth soil parcel composition as it relates to flavor and aroma, to high altitude climate variations, collectively known as terroir, at the Catena Institute of Wine. In 2020, Dr. Catena released her book called Gold in the Vineyards, the English translation of Oro en los Viñedos, which was published by Catapulta in 2017. The book, profiles 12 different vineyards, located in both the New and Old World, charting their history and explaining why they have become so well-known.

10th Anniversary Announcement
On Wednesday, April 27th, Alexandrians came together and raised over $2.5 million during ACT for Alexandria‘s Spring2ACTion. Del Ray Café was host to At Home in Alexandria (AHA!) for the ninth consecutive year and we donated 10% of the days sales – over $700 – to AHA!
We also announced, with the help of The Zebra Press Z-TV, our 10th Anniversary donation. May 1, 2022 was our 10th Anniversary. We announced that we are celebrating our great fortune to have survived the pandemic with the continuous support of the Del Ray and Alexandria communities by again donating 5% of our May sales to ACT for Alexandria.
We also announced that our match partners from 5 years ago, The Jen Walker Team REALTORS and Wendy Brown will again be matching our donation. We can now also announce third match partners, Tom Crowley & Christena Nielson. In 2017, for our 5th Anniversary, we donated $10,000 and with our two match partners, a total of $30,000 was donated to ACT. Now, with 3 partners, we are hoping to make a donation of over $40,000.

2021 Holidays at DRC
We are already full swing into the holiday season in Del Ray and loving it! Some of our favorites are all the friends’ get-togethers. For the official holidays, Del Ray Cafe will be open Christmas Eve, closed Christmas Day, open New Year’s Eve, and open for Brunch on New Year’s Day but closed for dinner.
For Christmas Eve, we are offering two seatings, at 6pm and 8pm, and we are offering a 3-course prix fixe menu for 79$ and a kid’s 3-course prix fixe menu for 40$.
For New Year’s Eve, we are also offering two seatings, at 6pm and 8pm, and offering a 3-course prix fixe menu for 85$ along with the same kid’s menu offering.
We look forward to seeing you this holiday season whether for an informal friend’s gathering or a more formal holiday dinner!
Fall 2021 Wine Dinners
Just announced! Three wine dinners to kick off your Holiday season.
Our first dinner is on Wednesday, October 27th at 7pm and features the wines of Ancient Peaks Winery in Santa Margarita, CA in the Paso Robles wine region. This dinner will include 5 Courses and 5 Wines for 99$++. Menu
Our second dinner is on Wednesday, November 3rd at 7pm and features Italian wines. This dinner will include 4 Courses and 5 Wines for 89$++. Menu
Our third dinner is on Wednesday, December 1st at 7pm and features Champagne & Wild Mushrooms. This dinner will include 5 Courses and 6 Champagnes for 175$++. Due to the product costs, we are requiring a 50% non-refundable deposit for this event. Menu

Alexandria Restaurant Week
We look forward to this end of summer ritual every year – Alexandria Summer Restaurant Week is August 20th-29th. It’s a perfect way to explore Alexandria, through its food and neighborhoods.
